Classic mesotherapy Injections of medications and cosmetic products into the skin

Injections of medications and cosmetic products into the skin

Mesotherapy was first introduced in France. In aesthetic medicine, mesotherapy is a therapeutic alternative for treating cellulite, for body sculpting, and injecting hyaluronic acid, multi-elements and vitamins in the zone of the face.

Mesotherapy of face and neck

The term mesolift means injections of "nutritional elements", oligoelements, vitamins, and elements included in the composition of the skin, in a natural environment - directly into the dermis - which leads to an excellent lifting effect.

Skin-ageing is characterized by:

  • Ageing of the collagen and elastin fibres;

  • Subcutaneous fat atrophy

  • The attachment sites of the muscles in the skin are preserved and as a result the skin sags and wrinkles.

Classification of skin-ageing:

Phase I - excellent revitalization and good tonus

  1. Good tonus

  2. Slight dehydration

  3. Ageing of the dermis visible in facial mimics

  4. Visible wrinkles in facial mimics

  5. No visible signs when the face is at rest

Phase II - effective revitalization; a suitable moment for prophylaxis of Phase 3

  1. Folds, dry skin

  2. Damaged dermis

  3. Fine and moderately visible wrinkles at rest

  4. Signs of damaged epidermis at rest

Phase III - long and difficult revitalization, limited effect, and combination with other means

  1. Sagging, dehydrated skin

  2. Damaged dermis

  3. Fine, moderate or expressly visible wrinkles

  4. Signs of damaged epidermis at rest

Mesotherapy can be applied for horizontal and vertical wrinkles on the forehead, cheeks, periorbital area (around the eyes), and the area of the nose, mouth, and neck. The desired effect is revitalization of the face, shaping of the lines of the eyes, cheeks, the oval shape of the face, hydration, enhancement of the tonus and the density of the skin, and decreasing sagging. The hyaluronic acid is a major element of the dermis and a major product in the cocktail for face and skin. The injection of this acid accelerates the synthesis of collagen and elastic fibres. To it are added vitamins, amino acids, and minerals. All these improve keratinization, regulate the biological processes and microcirculation, and inhibit the synthesis of melanin. Therapeutic schemes for the different stages of skin-ageing:

Phase I

The sessions take place every 4-6 weeks.

A new session - once every 3 months, or twice a year. The results are visible after 2-3 procedures.

Phase II

5 sessions, spaced 2 weeks apart

The results are visible after 4 procedures

A pause of 6 months

A new series of 2-3 sessions

Prophylaxis: 2 sessions per year or every two months

Phase III

5 sessions, spaced 10 weeks apart

The results are visible after 4 sessions.

A pause of 6 months

A new series of 2-3 sessions

Prophylaxis: 2 sessions a year, or once every two months

! You need to combine it with other methods

This procedure is performed when the patient is lying down and after the targeted area has been well cleaned. It is recommendable that the patient has not taken aspirin or other medications of this group. Microinjections are delivered through a multi-injector so that small papillae are formed very close to each other. The area should be massaged gently and bandaged for several minutes to prevent hematomas, which are likely to appear. Exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided for a week. As with any procedure of this kind, there is a possibility of allergic reactions.

Contra-indications for mesotherapy are the autoimmune disorders, pregnancy, skin infections, or psoriasis.

Therefore, mesotherapy is a revitalizing procedure which does not replace lift surgery. It effectively improves the hydration, tonus, and resilience of the skin. It delays the appearance of wrinkles and skin sagging. It preserves the natural look of the skin.

Results are achieved in 3 to 5 weeks. A side effect of the procedure could be a swelling which stays for not more than 2 days, or possibly a hematoma in the area of injection (which appears almost always when the procedure is performed for treating eye bags). The technique is the same as the face treatment with a cocktail for a lifting effect.

Mesotherapy for hair loss treatment and hair growth acceleration

Not less interest provokes the treatment of hair loss in the different types of alopecia. Very successful are the programmes using ingredients improving the blood supply to the hair follicles, the supply of vitamins and oligoelements for the metabolism of the cells, as well as the specific anti-androgenic treatment of male-type defluvium. The sessions take place once a week, usually 4 sessions in a row, with prophylactic sessions once every 2-3 months. Depending on the alopecia, the courses can be individualized. The procedure takes 20 minutes. In the cases of seasonal hair loss, 2-4 cocktails are applied in February and September. This method can be combined with other localized products, and the acceleration of hair growth becomes noticeable as early as the second session.

Mesotherapy for weight loss and cellulite treatment

Mesosculpting is a kind of mesotherapy which is used for hands, neckline, belly, legs, and thighs treatment, aiming to shape the contours and tighten the targeted areas. Unlike liposuction, which treats the deep fat deposits, this technique is a successful completion with an optimal result for the surface areas.

Cellulite develops through four stages:

  1.
    • Edematous

    • Edematous affecting the adipocytes and microcirculation;

    • Development of an edema - evolution to fibrosis

    • Formation of micro and macro nodules and fibrosclerosis

Treatment should include shaping of body contours (elimination of localized fat deposits) and restoration of the firm structure of the skin. The procedure is painless.

Occurrences of reddening, slight swellings, hematomas, or itching, are possible within 24 hours after the injection. Afterwards, you could experience muscle pain for 2 days, as after a long training exercise.

Results become visible in 15-20 days. The procedure can be optimized by a draining massage, which has a calming effect on the elimination of fat deposits. The average effect after 4 sessions is 6-8 cm less in the circumference of the waist, internal and external part of the thighs; after 10 sessions the results can be a reduction of up to 10-15 cm. The effect is long-lasting, especially when the regime of physical activity and dietary regime are observed during the therapeutic period, but of course it fades away with time. Usually, it is necessary to undergo 3-4 sessions per year. The patient is advised not to take aspirin or ibuprofen at least one week prior to the procedure. The patient should not take a shower, or expose the area to direct sunlight, for 8 hours after the procedure. Patients should drink at least 2 litres of fluids, which helps the elimination of waste products.

Contra-indications for mesotherapy: skin infections, psoriasis, autoimmune disorders, pregnancy, malignant disorders in an active stage. Prophylaxis is necessary in recurrent herpes.
